The Canadian Concrete Pipe & Precast Association is home to over 55 member organizations across North America. Our members are a diverse collection of professionals that include producers, suppliers, and cement companies spread out across Canada and United States.
Each of these members has contributed their insights and expertise to the CCPPA’s collection of technical documents and professional resources. Every member brings a unique perspective to the table, and we believe that it’s this diversity—along with our members’ commitment to ongoing excellence—that makes the CCPPA one of Canada’s leading agencies in concrete construction.

Following graduation from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA, Drew joined the concrete pipe and precast industry with Waterloo Concrete Products in 1975. His career path allowed him the opportunity to work in Canada, Chile, California and back where he was VP/GM of the Eastern Canadian Region for Hanson Pipe and Products prior to launching JD Industrial Sales. He has been an active leader in industry associations throughout his career including serving as President of the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Association and Chair of the Marketing Committee of the American Concrete Pipe Association. Drew looks forward to maintaining his contacts from coast to coast to coast in Canada and across North America during retirement.
Doug started his career in 1974 as an Accountant at Bestpipe in Kitchener Ontario
In 1976 became Comptroller of Waterloo Concrete Products in
In 1996 transferred to Windsor plant and became General Manager of Fauteux. During this time was on the negotiating team with Blue Circle Cement to merge its concrete pipe business with Lafarge’s in the Province of Ontario.
With the merger in 1998 Doug became Chief Financial Officer of the newly formed Centennial Pipe & Products.

Edwin graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1976 in Civil Engineering, and Wilfrid Laurier University with an MBA Finance in 1987.
He has worked at the Forterra Cambridge plant since April of 1976 and has held many senior management positions.
Edwin has been actively involved in Industry Associations that impact our product lines. These include OCPA, CCPPA, CSA, and ACPA. He initiated research and development with concrete mix designs, box units, manhole bases, fatigue analysis on girder beams. This involved working with various Ontario Universities.
He was Chairman of the Plant Prequalification Program for over twenty five years.
Edwin was one of two industry reps that helped the development of the OPSS 1821 specification. The reasons were two-fold: develop an off the shelf standard that any producer can use, and avoid the tedious eight hour design work by hand needed for every design.
Edwin’s daily activities were to manage Engineering and Operations for the Canadian Plants.
Mel graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1960 and was involved with concrete pipe and precast concrete products for more than 60 years. Since 1980, he had operated his own consulting firm and manufacturers agency representing several suppliers to the precast concrete industry. Mel taught precast concrete production schools for the ACPA, NPCA, CPCA and individual pipe and precast companies. Mel passed on November 11th, 2023 at the age of 85 years.
