2018 CCPPA Technical Seminars in Ontario

The Canadian Concrete Pipe and Precast Association is offering six technical seminars in Ontario for both government agencies and consulting engineering firms.

The seminar series is the largest training event that the CCPPA conducts across Canada each year. There is no cost to register, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Delegates will receive information that should help them to protect themselves, both legally and professionally. The topics covered in the seminars include:

  • Assessment of pipe systems
  • Rigid and flexible pipe design
  • Construction and inspection
  • Trenchless methods
  • Precast Concrete Boxes
  • Quality and inspection

The CCPPA Gravity Pipe Seminars have proven to be very useful for Design Engineers, Technologists, Project Managers, Contract Administrators, and Construction Inspectors.

The March 6 seminar had a strong representation from Niagara Region and its second tier municipalities.The remaining attendees were local consultants, who appreciated the range of technical information regarding use of concrete pipe.  CCPPA hopes that the many who attended will accept the invitation to participate in a plant tour.

London March 1

CCPPA Technical Seminars - London

The seminar in London was attended by young, eager engineers wanting to know more about concrete pipe.

Ottawa January 10

On January 10, the CCPPA held a two hour seminar for the City of Ottawa inspection staff (33 attendees) as well as a group of local consulting engineers (12 different firms with a total of 42 attendees). The technical seminar covered the basics with respect to design and manufacturing of reinforced concrete pipe while the majority of the seminar provided a comprehensive focus on the installation and inspection requirements of both rigid and flexible pipe systems.
